The Egyptian Heat Treatment Society (EHTS) was established on September 2003 in Cairo as a scientific, nonprofit society to promote interaction and cooperation between researchers and heat treaters, organize the research efforts in this field, directing the research plans towards serving the Egyptian industry and solving its problems.
EHTS joined the International Federation for Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering (IFHTSE) and became a member of this federation which includes many heat treatment societies in Europe, north and south of America and Asia.
EHTS is considered to be the first society to join the IFHTSE from Arab, African and Middle East countries.
OBJECTIVES OF SOCIETY
1- Increasing the awareness of the important role of heat treatment in improving the quality of metallic products to obtain a product with the desired mechanical and physical properties (such as spare parts and investment equipment) to cope with world progress in this field.
2- Coordinating the efforts between researchers in the field of heat treatment and the various industrial companies benefiting from their services.
3- Enriching and spreading scientific culture in the field of heat treatment by organizing local and international symposiums conferences, lectures and seminars to as to enhance the interaction between the researchers to exchange their thoughts and opinions and develop their researches.
4- Issuing and publishing journals and specialized periodicals to demonstrate the society activities, research results and introduce the society members. Also establishing a data base of companies working in the field and their facilities.
5- Providing training for young researchers, engineers and heat treaters by organizing training courses, discussion forums and workshops in the following fields: heat treatment, surface engineering, metallurgical failure analyses material selection, corrosion …etc
.
